If your oral exams and research topics are in english you might consider putting more effort in properly learning this language! siginig up for this board is a good first step but it won't do much good until you start working systematically! my advice: grab an english book and start reading or even better start reading english newspapers and write out all the words you dont know smile

it is fairly difficult in the beginnin but if you keep working it gets easier and less frustrating smile

My name is Steve; nickname Szte (don't ask me why, for I don't know it myself). I'm 16 years old, and I have my origins in sweden? <-don't really know if that sentence is right or makes sense, though! I'm living near Berlin and came here to this board from the matheboards - I'm no good with maths but I'm not too bad at it, either!

I still attend school and am in my 3rd year of middle school --
also I think I'll pass the MSA easily with flying grades, since it is, in my opinion, a real JOKE...
So, starting in septembre I'll be a 1st-year-highschool-student =)

and yeah, I'm here to kill some time when I got nothing to do..

Hey guys!

I'm Schenny and I'm 16 years old. I live in East Frisia ... haha, does anyone know where that is? If you know: Congratulations. For those who don't: It's in the northwest of Lower Saxony ... up to the North Sea ^^

I go to the 11th grade of a gymnasium. So ... not the place where you do sports but the school form ^^
I will do my a level exams next year and english is an advanced course of mine.
And I really have to improve my english ... my teacher isn't really satisfied with me and I have problems with writing and to find the right words. And I'm really bad in analysing text ... even in german class and in english it is worse unglücklich

Hello

My name is Iris, but it's pronounced like Eris, so I chose the latter as nickname.
About fourteen years ago I've spent half a year in Australia. That's mostly where I've learnt English.
Since then I've been reading books and watching movies in English.
Unfortunately it didn't quite help me to improve my skills, but at least it preserved me from forgetting the most.
Lucky for me, because I need quite a lot practice in English for my science studies and lately I've even started tutoring pupils. This was a point when I realized that I could use some conversation. I checked the web and discovered among others this forum, where I'd too like to freshen up my language.

If anyone discovers a mistake I'd appreciate very much to be told. Thanks a lot. Also If any expression could be said in a more elegant way. That's about it I guess. See you.

Unfortunately I have to say that here are not many users but if you have a question, you can ask and I am sure that one of the moderators will answer. Sometimes it it takes a bit longer but normally you get your answer after one day.

It was very quiet here in the last months. At the moment I am the only one who asks every day questions, but I get my answers everytime.

I have seen your English is rather good. Do you need it for studying?

As a matter of fact I did and do need the language quite often. Whether for studying, as you observed well, or for tutoring kids who need it for school.
I frequently watch movies, too, but the quality of practice in reading and listening is just not to be compared with the one in writing or even speaking.
Well I need it all the time for all sorts of things. How about you?

I decided to register here because in the near future I have to chose two advanced courses in school and I wanted to take my favorite subject English as one of them because I really love the language. I don't know why I like it so much, but for me, it always was "THE" language.
I think that my language skills are pretty good for my age and of course I hope it's enough for the advanced course! Big Laugh
