kann sich jemand mal mein referat durchlesen und fehler korrigieren? für vorschläge und anregungen bin ich auch immer offen!

Green Day Rock

Good morning =)

In the next few minutes I’m going to give my presentation about a world-famous american punk-rock band: Green Day.

In 1987 it all began: 14 year old Billie Joe Armstrong and his friend Mike Dirnt (née Michael Pritchard) formed a band called “Sweet Children”. Billie Joe as guitarist and vocalist, Mike as bass guitaris. The third band member was Jhon Kiffmeyer, he played the drums.
Soon they had to change their name, because there was a band with a similar name. Since then they have called themselves Green Day.
Under the new name they released their first album by the name of 39/Smooth.
After their first nationwide tour Jhon Kiffmeyer left the band to attend college. Green Day needed a new drummer…and found one: Frank Edwin Wright III, also known as Tré Cool.
They made a second Album under the label Lookout! Records: Kerplunk. It sold about 50,000 copies in the USA. Because it was so successful, many other labels became interested in Green Day. So they left Lookout! Records and signed with Reprise Records. This label is a major label and many punk rock fans called Green Day traitors. They thought Green Day only wants to make money instead of ranking music first. But it has never been the case. They released one album after the other. So far they have made 7 studio-albums and a lot of other stuff, for example live-albums and DVD’s.
Their most successful and 7th album was American Idiot, released in 2004. It was their first album reaching No. 1 on the Billboard charts. This is the most recent album of the band. But in 2008 they will release a new one.
Their CD’s and concerts have made them very famous…and successful. They won several awards, for example the Grammy Award for Record of the year for their song “Boulevard of broken dreams”.
Green Day is also involved in charity projects. They performed at the Live 8 concert in 2005. They also formed a partnership with the NRDC, an American environmental organization fighting for the enviroment.

As you see, Green Day is very interesting! And that’s why I like them. They make great music. They do not only want to make money, like some other bands. They want to express their feelings, to reach other people with their music. They live for music. And their music is fun! I love to listen to it loudly, because it makes me feel happy =). And I almost love it even more to play their songs on my guitar =). I play the electric guitar and the acoustic guitar. Playing the electric guitar is more fun, but sometimes it sounds more beautiful with the acoustic guitar. And because of that, I will play a little song for you: [Song-Name] by Green Day.
