Meine Frage:
Hallöchen! Ich muss bis heute Abend mein Essay abgeben. Und wollte euch fragen, ob ihr meine Fehler korrigieren könnt.
Es ist ein Argumentierender Artikel über Indien

Meine Ideen:
"How to be a gay and Indian"

In the 60 and 70 was homosexuality not mentioned in India, it didn't exist. They still live in the past and they don't even think about to legalize homosexuality. Nothing changed until now, everything in India happens slowly. In the article "How to be gay and Indian" Manila Suri tells us about how he grown up in India as a gay men and that he never had been allowed to be a gay free living men in India. In the following part I will be commenting on the article and analyze it.

The article "How to be a gay and Indian" written by Manil Suri, is about himself and about his life. He tells us about, how it is to be gay in India. When he was twelve his mother already told him that he will be soon attracted to boys, his mother had an MA psychology. Manil Suri grew up in Bombay this was a little village in India, in India was it taboo to be a gay men. That?s why Manila Suri reached early out of the crowd and moved to the US, because he wants to live his own life in a country, where no one is interested about whom he?s attracted to, because there is the homosexuality already had been accept, he finally has broken free and in the US his life has changed, there can he live the life he want to. Because would Manil Suri stay in India, has he to follow the rules. The main theme in this text is hybridity, post colonial changes in India, immigration and the otherness.

With this article Manil Suri wants to gain the people in India, he wants to show them, that no one need to hide for who they really are just because they live in India, he wants them to stand up and that they show these people who they are, no one need to hide. In the article he tells us about, that he didn?t stayed in India, that he had a gay indian friend who introduced him to Larry. Than he had broken free and in the US his whole life changed. There he could be who he really is, without to hide anything about his sexuality. But he writes the article also because he wants to show all of the people who live in India, that no one need to hide something, that all the people are the same, also with a different sexuality, he wants the people to wake up, all over the world, and that we all are the same. He wants people to be aware of what it?s like to be gay in India and how it has been changing thru the years, Indians get more open about it but being gay in India is taboo. His mother who had an MA in psychology seem to take his revelation rather well, only asking that he doesn't tells anyone else in the family about it, but he had been accepted from his mother, from the start, it seems that she loves his son, for what he is. The time when his mother visits him, in Maryland 1984, he bullied her into attending a meeting of PFLAG, this was a support group of parents of gays. That really shows how his mother is interested about his life as homosexuality.

Manil Suri is gay and speaks for them in a way. In his article Manil Suri uses a lot of pathos because he wants to appealing to the reader's emotions and he wants to creating an emotional response to other people who live in India. And he also use pathos in his article, when he writes personally. But he uses also etos in this article, because he experienced all these things, when he lived in India as a gay man. He also deals with the gay rights, the authors way to deal with him being gay and how his family or community deals with it. The article is a discussion of the role of traditions and family in India, and the writer?s attitude towards this. This article is for people with an open mind and for the readers of the grant magazine, the readers could be Indian or higher educated.

When you live in India you still have to hide your sexuality, because it?s still taboo to be homosexual, they still live in the past, that?s also a reason why Manil Suri moved to the US. People in India still won?t accepted gay people. That?s why he has to hide it in India and don?t tell anyone about it. But his mother seem to take his revelation rather well, only asking that he doesn't tells anyone else in the family about it. ?but my mother seemed to take my revelation rather well, only asking that I not to tell anyone else in the family about it.? But Manil Suri, want all the people to live free and that they be who they?re, not to be how other people want them to be. Manil Suri wants to fight for that homosexuality one day will be accepted in India, he don?t want to give up ?I suspect the end result will be similar - as it almost invariably does in India, accommodation will win the day? He wants that other people will be accepted in India someday.

India is still a country where homosexuality is illegal. Manil Suri fight for it, that people need to be who they are. India need more repression. Gay people deserve the same rights as regular people. Their lives are very terrible in India, because people have to hide, who they really are. They need more freedom and human rights in India. Maybe one day homosexuality will be accepted in India like in other countries. Instead of waiting for it, gay people should stay up and show other people in India who they really are, to be accepted at the end.
