Meine Frage:
Ich habe in einer Woche meine Eurokom und bin nicht wirklich gut in Englisch :S , deshalb würde ich gerne eure Meinungen dazu hören...

Good morning Mrs Kriem and Mrs Maier. My name is Franzi. Today i'd like to talk about the Statue of Liberty. I think this is a very interesting topic because many people know he but they dont know the meaning.
My presentation is made up of 3 parts. In the first part i will tell you some facts about the statue than i would like to go on with the history and finaly i'll inform you about the statue's sightseeing.
My presentation will take about 5 minutes. Please keep any questions until the end of my presentation. I'll try to do my best to answer them.
I begin with the facts about the statue. The Statue of Liberty also official cald Liberty Enlightening the world, Miss Liberty or Lady Liberty is a very popula landmark of New York City and a symbol of freedom and independencen of the United States. The statue stand on the Liberty iland in the harbor of New York. The Liberty iland is about 4 kilometer south of the Battery park and a 49000 square meters large rockey iland. Lady Liberty was disigned by Frederic August Bartholdi and built withe the help of tons of workers. The statue is 46 meter high and together with the pedestal it reaches 93 meter. Thats about the half of the television tower in stuttgart. And Miss Liberty is 225 tons heavy. It tooks 9 years befor the statue was finished in 1884 and presented to America on 4th july. The crowon of Lady Liberty has seven spikes symbolizing the seven seas and continents. In her left hand she holds a tablet with the Declaration of independence an in her right hand a torch with a gold coated flame. At her feet is a broken chain as a symbol of the end of slavery. Also there are 354 steps inside the statue and 25 windows in the crown.
Now i go on with the history. The statue of Liberty was a gift to the people of the United States from the people of French government for the 100th anniversery of the Americas independence and greeted millions of immigrant in the 19th century in search of a better life and came to America. The original idea of the Statue of Liberty follows the French legal scholar Eduard Rene wich has the idea the people of the United States in recofnition had to miss the time of the American revolution justfied her a symbol od friendship. While the U.S. was responsible for the construcion of the base, France was responsible for the construcion of the statue. But on both sides of the atlantic ocean there was first of all financing difficults that needed to be carefild first. The finanzing of the base was only finally resolved in 1885 and the construction could be completed in april 1886. On 28th of october 1886 the U.S. president Grover Cleveland unveiled the Statue of Liberty of Liberty iland.
Lets turn to the last point of my presentation the statue's sightseeing. The Statue of Liberty and its neighbor Ellis iland are the most desirable tourist destinations in the country. Thousends of people visit the Statue daily. You can easily visit the Statue of Liberty National Monament and the Ellis island immigration museum both only a short ferry ride from the Batterie Park. You can learn about its history in the museum and discover the spectacular vews from the top of the pedestal.
I'd like to finish by summarizing the important points.
- The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the people of the United States from the people of French government
- Lady Liberty was designed by Frederic August Bartholdi
- is a symbol for freedom and independence
- ans stand on the Liberty island in the harbor of New York
