Would you be willing to holiday at home to help save the worlds water?

We must face the fact that each travel to another country is not helpful for the worlds environment. An important factor is the water shortage at the holiday areas. One example ist Spain. Spain is Europe`s mos popular tourist destination and it is driest country. Here since 1960 the number of tourists travelling abroad has risen nearly ten times.
The question is would I be willing to holiday at home to help save the world`s water.

There are two sides of the question. On the one hand the poeple for example in Spain work in the tourism branch and earn a lot of money from the tourists. But on the other hand it is dangerous for the nature and for the country because the water consumption is so popular tourist region. Here the people needs water for the forest, water for showers and toilets, water for many bars and kittchens and water for a lot of swimming pools.
The problem will rising a little bit from year to year. Water is scare and some experts see water shortages as a possible cause of future wars.

It can be nice to spent the holiday time at home. There are a lot of beautiful places in Germany and some sweat island like Sylt or Amrum. In addition to that with a little luck the weather in germany in the summer is better or the same as in Spain or Portugal.
Another advantage to make holiday in Germany is that the industry here earn more money. That is the money that the spanish people earning from the trippers.
But normally in the other holiday times in the year it is cold and wet in Germany. Then the people fly two hours to Mallorca and can enjoy the wonderful weather all the time.

The new trend that some people practise is to travel in a cheap land like Turkey or Bulgaria and pay for some weeks all inklusive less then they stay in Germany for the time. All inklusive mean that somebody can drink and eat the whole day and pay one price for all.
Furthermore it gives a lot of people which want to see all the interesting parts of the world. They feel boring and caged if they must stay in Germany the long live.

I doubt very much that enough people be in Germany on holidays. They don`t think about the consumption of water in the holiday areas. They only see the hot weather and the fun on this time.

One idea is that the Europe Union give den country who have too much tourists people money for the water and some other things like infrastructure.

I think the people don`t need so much water if they use today. When they have a cleverer handling with this important resource we don`t have so big problems like water shortage.

We must consider that if too much people be at home on holidays in Germany we get some new problems with the hotelbeds and so on. Than in a couple of years we have the same problems like Spain.

I can believe to be in Germany in the summer because the chance that the sun is shining is high. But when it is cold in Germany I would to get on a airplane and fly away. I think nobody can forbid me that only the country or the island which i travel for. Than it were OK.
