Are there any causes that are worth fighting (and dying ) for?
Fällt jemand etwas dazu ein...sind alle Kriege dumm? Wann sind sie dumm und wann nicht?

Zuerst: Einmal posten reicht
Oder wars das I-net?
And now:
In my opinion, a war where you use weapons is not a war worth fighting for. Every war fought by man made weapons is a war which should not be. On the historyboard (www.geschichteboard.de) I have some pieces of a quotation by Franklin D. Roosevelt (American President during WWII) which I have seen during my visit of his memorial in Washington. It says: I have seen war - I hate war.
And this is exactly my opinion. Although countries find a justification of their war, I think there does not exist any...

In my opinion, one war was justified: The Trojan war. It was about a woman and the men fighting knew what they fought for. That's it.
Maybe joining a war, as the US did during WWII, is justified as well, but that war started for reasons that weren't seizable for an average man or woman. To that extent, it wasn't justified. |
