Ya..the whole Golfsburg thing. Weird that someone remembers it Anyways, I stayed in Oregon and therefor on the west coast of the US. It was south-west Oregon so I was near the pacific Ocean and near the californian border. It was a great time and I miss the people over there.
I wish I could visit them somehow. But I do not have the money nor the time. Maybe I'll make an other foreign exchange year during my college years. <- what a weird sentence...

sometimes it's kinda hard to decide, if it's really a mistake or just some slang-spelling. "Ma" for example is just another spelling for "my".
"my name's" ain't really a correct prhase, but "ain't" is not too correct here, too... but - as we're just doin' small-talk up in here, maybe it shouldn't be too serious with these standart-english expressions. after all: while using english in real life - like talkin' to somebody or just tryin to understand a film - you'll need to be able to understand and even use these non-standart expressions, too.

Hallo!
As here are some people whom I´ve never seen at matheboard, I´ll introduce myself , too:
My real name is Dennis, but Ben will do, I´m pretty used to it by now
I´m 24 years old and studying economical mathematics at Duisburg University.
In school time I had English as main course (my free translation of "LK") and now I sometimes read an English book or watch some movies in English, because I really like the language.
So, I hope to have some fun here, and knowing some of you already I don´t doubt that.

Hi Everyone,
I´m Ingmar and live near Hamburg.
I´m 20 years old and pasted middle school 3 years ago.
Now i´m in an Aprenticeship to Processcontrollengeenier.
Thats an Electrician for Automation.
The Company i work for is called Norddeutsch Affinerie.
We are the biggest Copper producer in Europe and the most modern company producing Copper.
After i passed the Aprenticeship i´d like to work on an Oilrig.
My interrests are Computer, Making Music, Badminton, Bicycle, Soccer
I´d like to improve my Englishskill for better understanding

Hélas!
My name is Martin Wagner but most call me Maddin , i'm 18 years old and I live in Bavaria , 30 miles southwest of Nürnberg in a little village with nearly 8000 inhabitants .
I go to a grammar school called Willibald Gluck Gymnasium in Neumarkt and i hope i'll graduate in the year 2006 with English and Economy as LK's.
In my freetime I play guitar , do sports or I just play some games on the PC.

My real name is Veronika. I came here because of my passionate love for English and my strange name "molekülhexe" comes from the chemistry board - due to my laziness I just used the nick.
In real life I'm a student of LMU Munich (Chemistry-what else) but I had LK English and liked it very much...

Hallo!
My name is Dan and I am a struggling student of German in California. I love the German language and long to be fluent, but it eludes me. I am trying to teach myself German and I am making incredibly slow progress. My fondest wish is to be able to understand the German TV soaps someday. We get German TV in California by satellite and I take a local German paper, and go sometimes to a Stammtisch.
Anyone out there who would like to be an e-pal and suffer my German in exchange for help in English would be my lifelong friend. Age, profession, religion, and sex makes no difference as long as you are fluenty literate in German and willing to actively exchange language tutoring on the internet. I am hoping by exchanging short internet notes nearly everyday with my e-pal that after awhile I will learn how to write reasonably well in German with corrections and advice from my e-pal. My e-pal can write in English and I will trade language tutoring with him or her.
I hope to hear from someone out there. Tschuss! |
