The film „Eat, Pray, Love“, which is directed by Ryan Murphy, deals with a 32-years-old woman Elizabeth Gilbert who has everything a heart could wish for except happiness. "a heart could wish for" ist ein Ausdruck, der mir so nie begegnet ist - vllt. eher "everything one could wish for"?

„Eat, Pray, Love“ stars American actress Julia Roberts as Elizabeth Gilbert.
She is educated, has a house, a husband and a successful career. However, she is unhappy in her marriage and wants to get divorced. After finalizing her difficult divorce she spends the next year travelling. She spends four months in Italy, eating and enjoying live („Eat“). She spends four months in India, finding her spirituality („Pray“). She ended the year in Bali, Indonesia, looking for „balance“ of the two and found love („Love“).

The film is fueled by a mix of intelligence, wit and colloquial exuberance that is close to irresistible yet it is too long. Das Satzende ist sehr aprupt. Eine ander Möglichkeit hier wäre auch "yet" - irgendwie gefällt mir das dort gerade mehr - aber "but" ist natürlich in jedem Fall richtig. What is more, Julia Roberts is not believable as a young woman looking for her place in life. Usually women in her age have settled in already.

This is an entertaining and thought-provoking play that will appeal to people who were inspired by the book, like love stories or are fans of Julia Roberts. Ich gehe davon aus, dass du sagen möchtest, dass das Movie wohl solchen Leuten gefalle - "would" erscheint mir als Vergangenheitsform da fehl am Platz.
