Letter of Motivation Dear Miss **** ****, once again, thank you very much for the valuable information you provided via email as well as for sending the application form. I am glad to send my application for an exchange programme at your university for the spring term 2011. I am a final year student at the University of ****. History is my major, World English is my minor and Comparative Literature is my complementary subject. My great interest in the literature, society and politics, especially of the 19th and 20th century Britain and North America has convinced me to chose this course of studies. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree, I am planning to start a graduate study programme in European History. In my spare time at the university I already gained experience in organising international events, such as a Turkish evening at which I gave a presentation on the History of Constantinople. Another organisation I assumed an active role within is the annual Global Village event, where students present their home country by offering national food, music, brochures and dancing performances. I am sure that my past experience with international organisations as well as my open-minded and communicative nature would help to immerse quickly in a new environment. Since I always enjoyed studying in a multicultural environment and international experience is an essential part of my study programme, I would like to spend an academic term in a British university. Britain has always attracted me with its cultural diversity and the long tradition of its universities, which are known to be the best in the world. Studying at the University of **** would be a great opportunity to meet international students, learn more about their cultures and collaborate successfully with them.
