Ich muss diesen Brief bald einreichen, bin aber kein Englisch-Pro.
Kann mir vielleicht jemand helfen, indem er ihn sich mal durchliest und korrigiert. Das wäre super!

Dear XXX,

I, a German student, have read an interview with you about your book “XXX”. I am really impressed of the situation you have described. I never thought of our lifestyle in this way. For me it is inconceivable how we can keep up a lifestyle without thinking about the consequences.
I am mostly interested in what you have said about the circumstances how we are going to be made to buy a certain product. Firstly I could not believe that it would be so easy to convince me of a product or brand.
But when I thought of my way of buying things I realized that we are all predictable. I thought of buying just the one label and how labels make us being part of the society. We are wearing Levi’s jeans and Converse Chucks to be seen as a cool and maybe alternative person who can identify itself with the brand. And we totally avoid certain labels which are not accepted by our friends. It would be for example uncool to buy jeans from Picaldi even if we like them, because another “type” of person is buying there and we do not want to be identified with him.
But to be honest it is a really one-sided view of the situation. Of course we are all living in the one society which controls more or less our attitude, but as individuals with own tastes we want to represent our character by wearing a certain type of clothes. We are not doing it because we have to but because we want to be seen like this. The first thing you notice from a person is the look and that is why it is so important for us to look the way we want to and brands can support the effect.
And it is not even bad that we identify ourselves with the products we are consuming. Clothes and all the other products are our way of representing how we feel and what we like.
