The extract, taken from the novel ,Ireland, by Frank Delaney is about a storyteller who tells the Irish history on the basis of his stories. So gefällt mir die Satzstellung besser.

The storyteller tells the story about himself and a nine year old boy. He lives in the streets (ich kenne eher "in the streets", aber "on the streets" scheint auch korrekt zu sein), has no dwelling (Wohnung) and he gets one meal in three days. One day he sees a nine year old boy in a window of a house. He looks at him and always thinks that he could help Wer denkt das? Inhaltlich verstehe ich den Satz nicht. The boy calls his father, but he only say that it is his own fault (Selbst Schuld debt=Schulden (finanziell) ) that he lives on the streets and he would not help him. But the boy is not happy with the reaction of his father till the father accepts to help him. For the boy, the dream to help comes true. They call the man into their house, give him to eat and a bed to sleep.

Insgesamt: He, she, it, das "s" muss mit (aber nur da Augenzwinkern ).
