 Hm, aber es geht um den Ort, oder? Also in der Abteilung Nephrologie und Dialyse. gemma22 schreibt ja bestimmt nicht über die Abteilung, sondern macht dort irgendwas (was sich uns wahrscheinlich für immer verschließen wird weil Fachchinesisch  ) |

| Ich würde die Anrede ändern. "to whom it may concern" ist meiner Meinung nach eher üblich, wenn es um Zeugnisse oder so etwas geht, die also wirklich an "irgendeinen" geht. Hier würde ich "Dear Sir or Madam" vorziehen. Mit dem Rest habe ich aufgrund der medizinischen Sprache natürlich so meine kleinen Probleme, aber ich würde ja sagen, dass es heißen müsste "I am presently working on my diploma thesis about the ..." . Ferner schriebe ich einfacher "I want", als die in meinen Augen eher gestelzt klingende Formel "I would want". Eher vielleicht "I would like". Ansonsten stimme ich Gargy zu. Gruß MI |

| hallo allerseits! ich muss einen letter of motivation verfassen für eine bewerbung für eine famulatur in den usa und bin mir leider bei vielen ausdrücken doch ziemlich unsicher ..falls jemand zeit hat, das schreiben korrektur zu lesen, wäre ich sehr dankbar! lg To whom it may concern, During one of my clinical electives in Vienna I learned that the Austria Medical Association organizes internal medicine clerkships in the USA. As I regard myself as very interested in this field of medicine I hereby apply for an elective at Pennsylvania Hospital. I am currently enrolled as a 5th-year medical student at the Medical University of Vienna with two clinical years ahead. I am presently working on my diploma thesis at the Division of Nephrology and Dialysis and will spend the next semester at Marie Curie University in Paris/France, where I will complete my internal medicine rotation. As I mentioned above, the field of medicine I am most interested in is internal medicine. I have already completed two electives (oncology, rheumatology) in this subject and I would like to make internal medicine my specialty one day. I would want to do a clinical elective in the USA because I can imagine to work in this country one day – I am currently also preparing for the first step of the USMLE. I believe spending three months on an internal medicine ward in the USA would be a challenge to prove my already acquired knowledge and also a great possibility to gain a lot of new knowledge and skills. Nowadays, it is very important to have made international experiences, especially in a professional medical field; this is why I completed a clinical elective in Brazil and why I applied for a semester abroad in France. This is also why I would want to gain practical experience in an American hospital. I would enjoy getting to know how American doctors and students work, teach and learn.
