Hallo,
also es geht um folgenden englischen Song:

Well I'm standing by a river
But the water doesn't flow
It boils with every poison you can think of
And I'm underneath the streetlights
But the light of joy I know
Scared beyond belief way down in the
Shadows
And the perverted fear of violence
Chokes a smile on every face
And common sense is ringing out the bells
This ain't no technological breakdown
Oh no, this is the road to hell

And all the roads jam up with credit
And there's nothing you can do
It's all just bits of paper
Flying away from you
Look out world take a good look
What comes down here
You must learn this lesson fast
And learn it well
This ain't no upwardly mobile freeway
Oh no, this is the road to hell.

Folgende Aufgaben:

2. Explain what the song-writer thinks "common sense" tells us.
3. What are the "bits of paper" the singer mentions? What problem might lines 12-15 be referring to? Line 12 -15:
"And all the roads jam up with credit
And there's nothing you can do
It's all just bits of paper
Flying away from you"
6. Why do you think the song writer uses the metaphor of the road?
7. "There's nothing you can do". Discuss

Ich habe schon folgendes zu den Aufgaben:

2. I think the song-writer want to tell us with "common sense" that everybody, who have a "common sense" had to ring out the bells. He had to stop the pollution of the rivers and the environmental problems. You would not say anything. You had to do something. Everybody had to sop this things.

3. Maybe the lines tell us that you can buy everything with credits, but you can not buy the environment and the earth back.

6. Noch nichts…
7. I think you can do something to stop the pollution. You can join groups like Green peace or World Wide Fun of Nature to stop the pollution etc. But it is destroyed to much.
It is an continual process.

Augenzwinkern
