meine korrektur: This advertisement appears in a magazine because it is colour printed. The advertisement shows John Travolta, who is a very famous film star. He is wearing a dark blue sports jacket and a shirt to match. He has a shaven face and his hears are combing back. He is looking straight into the camera directly into the eyes of the viewer of this advertisement. He has a strong, powerful and confident look in his eyes. He is wearing the clock, which is the product of his promotion, on his left hand. He is folding his hands in front of his wide chest. Because of this he is looking a little bit arrogant, which does not mean that it is a negative aspect of the advertisement. In the background the viewer has seen a plane and in the right top corner there is the slogan “Profession: Pilot; Career: Actor” which is referring to the model, who presents the product. In the right sub corner there is a picture of the clock showing. The logo consists of two wings and in the middle of them there is an anchor positioning. Under this symbol there is the script nameplate “Breitling” and the date, since this company exists. In the left sub corner there is standing the following conclusion of John Travolta: “I like to fly at least once a day.” The text under this conclusion gives the viewer only information about John Travoltas professional being a pilot as well. The advertisement conveys the name of the product, namely Breitling. The viewer can only suppose that the bracelet is made of leather and the clock itself of steel. He can also suppose that the clock is not very cheap because it is a brand product. The advertisement arouse my attention because of the very popular model and also the slogan “Proffesion: Pilot; Career: Actor” catches my attention. This advertisement could make people want to buy because the model has a very good charisma and it is trying to exploit the personality appeal, which means that a famous person, like John Travolta, is shown wearing this product. It is also trying to exploit the snob effect, which means that the product is very expensive and because of this not everyone can afford this product. John Travolta, shown as a Pilot, is a symbol of strongness, self-assurance and authority. The advertisement appears more likely to persons between 30 and 50 years because it is a very expensive clock. The advertisement appears to me because of the actor and the very colourful design.
