"The company was founded in...." is the only correct sentence. If you use a date in English (e.g. 1871/ 1 March) you have to use the past simple (was, went, saw) NOT the present perfect (has been). If however we are talking about "recently, this week, lately", where the time period is continuing, then you can use the present perfect. E.g I have recently founded a company. Hope that helps! _______________________ ich bin Übersetzerin bei dem Übersetzungsbüro 2.0 tolingo.de
First of all you should use "founded" instead of "found" in both cases.
I am also not quite sure, but I think that
"The company has been founded in 1987"
implies that the company still exists.
If it is more about the fact that the company was founded
in 1987
you ought to use the other variant.
And I would use "I noticed that, while I was sitting in my room" because the "sitting" was an ongoing progress whereas the "noticing" suddenly happened.

Hello dear forum,
I have a serious question, concerning the following sentence.
Were is the difference between:
The company was found 1987
and
The company has been found 1987.
Is there a essential difference, I think the express exactly the same or not?
I have another question, wether the following sentence is correct or not.
I noitced that, while I was sitting in my room.
Is there any big difference according to:
I noticed that, as a sat in my room.
In my point of view, they express the same. But did I use the correct grammar?
Thank you
