Hallo an alle ! Willkommen

Ich mach imom mein abi und hab mich bereits entschieden wo,wie und wann ich Psychologie studieren möchte.
Für meine Bewerbung bitte ich euch um hilfe. Lest euch meinen Letter of Motivation durch und gibt mir tipps was ich verbessern soll
Eine Korrektur von Sprachfehlern würde ich auch begrüßen!

"Dear Sir or Madame,

my name ist <name> , I am 18 years old and I am from Germany.
I hereby apply for the Bachelor of Psychology in the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience at Maastricht University starting in September 2011.
At present I am finishing my A-level at <schule> in <ort>, Germany and I am going to graduate from high school on June 14th, 2011. I took A-Levels in Biology, History, German and Catholic religion.

To introduce myself I would claim me a liberal, polite and cultivated young man. I am highly interessted in human beeings and especially in their forms of behaviour and thought. I assign me good empathetic cognitive abilities, which allow me to easily understand my opposites mind and how he feels. In many ordinary situations i try to analyse the motivation of behaviour of myself and people around me. My intention is to learn and apply correspondingly behaviour in any case.
One of my hobby is playing chess and basketball. In both types of sport it is important to foresee the strategy or single movements of ones opponent. That is why I already started to take interest in some kind of Psychology some years ago. I learned how to use my opponents mind to win a game by manipulation or feints. I have always asked myself how and why people act the way they do.
This is the reason why I informed myself more about the study programm of Psychology and Psychology in general. I read a book and articles about the empiric Science of Psychology and favoured this type of education. I am fascinated by deeping in theories of Human behaviour.
Maths and especially statistic are no fields of unsureness for myself. Planning and Calculating projects and working autonomously as well as in groups are one of my strenghts.

To apply for studies in a foreign country is the perfect way to combine my academically interests with my will of encountering a new region, new habbits and a new society. I picked the Netherlands and especially Maastricht University because of three main reasons. I already know the city, due to several trips. Secondly the distance between Maastricht and my hometown is not too long, so it is easy to establish myself quickly. Last but not least I am keen of the study path of psychology. I investigated the Homepage of Maastricht University and informed myself, especially about the Bachelor programm of Psychology. Furthermore I read other articles about Psychology at Maastricht University and eventually I was persuaded that Maastricht University is the right place to start my further academical career. I like the fact that the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience layed their focus on biological and cognitive Psychology and that Psychology is not ancillary to a Faculty of Philosophy comparrative to other Universities. Nethertheless I approve the fact that the Bachelor programme is tightly organised and I have no fear of an ambitious study. The principle of problem based learning is in my opinion the optimal way for a seccuessful final degree and I appreciate the form of care and support, which the university lecturers give the students.
Moreover I read about excellent facilities and equipment of the Faculty of Psychology and Neuroscience and this makes Maastricht University once more attractive.

In my youth I did many trips to the Netherlands with my parents and went to the coast on holydays. Today I am still visiting our western neighboure, for shopping or outgoing. I started to learn Dutch in February and will graduate my A2 level in the following two months. I informed myself about financial conditions and the bachelor programm of Psychology at Maastricht University. With a glance into the future i am looking forward to study at Maastricht University. I will also apply for the language course for german prospective students to successfully graduate my NT2 exam. On condition that I will be accepted as a student, my plan is to settle down in Maastricht. That is why it will become easy for me to improve my skills in Dutch and so I will have no language-based problems, at least at the beginning.
