From the dishwasher to the millionaire“is a very popular worldly wisdom from the people who are living in America. Many songs deal with the American Dream, and “Born in the USA” is one from them.
“Born in the USA” is a song by Bruce Springsteen and deals with the Vietnam-War. The title is cut from Springsteen’s No. 1 album from this time.
On the one hand it treats with his essay that he is proud to be “Born in the USA”, for instance that his father fought in the Vietnam-War, but on the other hand Springsteen wants to say that there are also dark sides about the American Dream in this song. War has always an bad affect on the world. People die, people loose their homes and this is only a part of the devastating affects of war. The Vietnam-War claimed many deaths on both sides: on the Vietnam and on the American.
The song deals also with love, because Springsteen’s father fell there in love with a woman from Saigong.
He is also singing that his father came back from the Vietnam-War and when he tried to get a job he wasn’t hired, because of what people would think about the boss hiring a Vietnam vet.
