zusammenfassung des zweiten kapitels von dead poets society....wird morgen als referat von mir vorgestottert 
könnte jemand so nett sein und das mal nach fehlern durchsehen und verbesserungsvorschläge anbringen ?!

We would like to give you an overview of the second chapter.
The first situation is that the junior class is waiting in the Academy Honor Room.
Dr. Hager, the old and strict mathematics teacher calls Knox Overstreet, Neil Perry, Charlie
Dalton and Richard Cameron to Mr. Nolan, the headmaster of Welton Academy.
After a short smalltalk Mr. Nolan explains to Todd that the boys can take part in extracurricular activities at Welton.
But the boys have to take them as serious as normal class work otherwise they will be punished
with demerits.
Then the others let Mr. Nolan know that they take the same activities as the year before.
Mr. Nolan also suggests Todd Anderson acceding those of his former school Balincrest.
Todd, however, reacts very bashfully because he doesn't want to continue soccer but he hardly manages to breathe his wish.
Mr. Nolan doesn't listen and respond to Todd's or the boys' needs in general and just dimisses
them.
After that Neil Perry and Todd Anderson got to the dormitory to move into their room.
On their way they talk about Todd's brother Jeffrey, who has already attended Welton Academy
successfully.
With them arriving in their room, Knox Overstreet, Charlie Dalton, Steven Meeks make a visit.
They want to learn together in a group, which they want Neil to join, too.
Thereby they get to know Todd and talk again about his well-known brother.
But the boys are interrupted abruptly as Neil has to recognize that his father hasn't left yet.
In this situation, it is indicated that the students make a difference in their behaviour when they
are alone or when teachers and parents are present.
The boys don't take discipline, which is one of the four pillars, as serious as it seems.
In our opinion, the most importent characters in this chapter are Todd and Neil.
Todd is the transfer student, the others also refer to as “the new boy“. So he has anyway an extraordinary status.
Neil is his roommate and his first friend at Welton. Also the other characters appear to be connected with Neil and that is why they also get to know Todd. |
