What race are your dogs? I've got a German shepherd dog. It's a she .
This morning a met a friend who has got a German shepherd one, too.
They always play together while we both talk about everything.
At that time we had a low of -6 Celsius and when I came back home after one hour I was nearly frozen.
But I really like to take her out. Dogs are good friends.

A few years ago I took care for a poor dog in an animal shelter (Tierheim) . Everyday I drove more than 20 km to visit him and take him for a walk.
He , also a German shepherd, died after nine month because of cancer.
That was very sad.

I believe it , ale. But later on when you have to do a job you'll probably longing for school again. That is/was my expierence.
School sometimes might be very stressful, but working in an office etc. is not that fun anymore and there are no more long summer vactions.
Besides all, I liked my job working at a travel agency.

@Ulli:
Well, the chance to get a job depends on the job you want to have. If you are studying law: No chance. If you are studying medecin: Good chance, if you are studying mathematics or physics: excellent chances -perhaps in different jobs, but physicians and mathematicians are searched nearly everywhere.
@ale:
What did you do during your practical work experience?
I had mine last year and I got the chance to go to the PTB (German equivalent to the American NIST = National Institution of Science and Technology, because I have an uncle who is working there). It was really great, too.

@MI: it will even get harder if the students will have to pay a fee on each term. A lots of young people with less money aren't able anymore /cannot afford it to go to university then.

The problem ist that Germany is bancrupt, and I cannot preview any changes for the next years.
This is why are changing our good system to a really unfair system.
In my opinion, the universities should install the same system like the Americans. Many of the American universities are mostly privately funded, which means that former students are paying large fees (you might have heard about that).
If German universities were funded that way, the government would have more money for students without money...

No, I've never heard about that system of American universities but it does sound better....smarter.

Well, my father told me about this system. This is why some American universities are very rich. It does not always work, but sometimes. I think some German universities are trying to do this, now.
Getting money by asking former students.

and that has a reason why you can get books earlier than in germany because most of the books we are reading are from english speaking countries and therefore they need to be translated first before we can buy them in a store.
I have lots of english books at home and it also happend that my mum and me bought exactly the same book but mine was in english....

I love to read in english, too..
It may sound a little strange, but I think when I read a book from an english writer it is just better to read the words he atually wrote himself and not the translation (althoug most translations are nearly perfect)
I just got these weird idea that the book has more spirit and soul if you read it in the original version...
I am crazy I know
and it is of course a great help when you want to improve your english
oh and by the way: ulli you got a son?????
I always thought you were something like 25

Reading English books is just more fun...
At the moment I am reading "the da vinci code", but I have also read all Harry Potter books in English....
I think I prefer English books because you have to guess some words that you do not know, which forces you to use your imagination more often
