The english vocabulary is too small. How sad a fate! In German you are able to denominate everything and in english everything has oodles of synonyms unglücklich

If it were too small, why does the German language keep on borrowing words from English then? I mean English is probably the language with the largest number of technical terms for example, so I wouldn't call the vocabulary small. smile

I'm not very much into mathematical/physical terminology in English, but that's surprising considering the fact that English is usually the lingua franca in sciences.

Which is basically correct - but English has only replaced German as the dominating language in science for about 60 years now, so in classical maths and physics, the German vocabulary might really be more extensive - but usually, the English just borrowed the missing words (like "Ansatz" or "Entscheidungsproblem") so I do not quite understand what Herbststurm is moaning Augenzwinkern

It's a long time ago that I wrote here last time.
But because I'm ill I've got so much time that I thought I could write here some phrases.
Even if my english isn't the best.. But without practicing I can't improve it. Right?
So... What are you doing and what have you done since your last entry?
You don't have to write some private things.. But something interesting would be nice of course. ^^
Well..
Since my last entry nothing interesting have happened.
Only studying the whole time and sometimes get drunken. Prost

Note that it's "drunken" only before a noun, like "drunken people". In other cases it's "drunk" ("let's get drunk" / "I'm drunk"). smile

But if I'm writing it's hard for me to look for mistakes in grammar 'cause if I did that I would spend over an hour..
So I'm sorry for that. I'll try to getting better but I can't promise anything ^^

I think that I dealed with that topic in the 9th grade but that's long time ago..

So I have searched for topics which is typical to talk about this country like USA and the american dream but i didn´t find anything.
you have already this topic in your 9 th grade so you can help me maybe. It will be very nice if you tell me what you have done at that time.which topics was the headlines. because in the internet i just find out that they have many problems with the `´kolonien´´ and ´´ die wurden unterdrückt ´´ etc..
It would be a pleasure to me if you can help me...please

haha the only resources I've got are my English books.
The name of them are English G Book ehm....I think 6 for 'Gymnasium Bayern'.

So i have to admit that your english is very good, because i think i couldn´t talk like as i was in the 10th grade,,
so gratualtions..
i luv dis language..so i write it in slang wit ma friends..this language is i think the best and then i like turkish..but i can´t talk..lol
in my opinion german is a difficult language.sooo what do you think about it ???

thanks. I think my english is that good 'cause I've been to the USA for a month ( I know that's not very long) and I'm speaking english with my cousins.

My favorite languages are english and vietnamese. And I am from Viet-Nam^^

Well I guess German is hard to learn. And I don't really think that it's a very beautiful language. But even though I like it.
The sound of this language sounds hard for other peeps^^

Woow anytime i wanna go to USA too. I love this language and the states. soo you are a lucky girl.
So what kind of movies do you like, or series ?
Foe example my favorite series is KING OF QUEENS, i love leah remini and kevin james..but unfurtunately it ends. And movies mhmmm i have many faves. e.g. a classic one is Titanic,Hitch-Date doctor, Romeo must die, every movie of brad pitt etc..now i will watch the new movie from kevin james-mall cop and from jim carey- der ja sager-..

well I haven't been here for a long time because I had a really bad report card. So I'm only at the computer at the weekend.

Well my fave series are Dr. House, I love him, CSI:Miami, Numb3rs and Criminal Minds. My parents hate me watching them haha. they say it's not god for me 'cause it's making me crazy xD

my favorite movies are Electra, Equilibrium-Killer of Emotion, Charlie's Angels, So Close, Wanted etc.
well, to cut the matter short, I love action movies^^

well the difference between "its" and "it's":

"its" is a pssesive pronoun and meens "seiner, seines, seine" or also "ihr ihre, ihren, ihrer, ihres, ihrem".

"it's" is the short form for " it is".

Well your sentence with "its" is definitely missing a verb, so it isn't grammatically correct (that's why it sounds strange, too). If you want to know how to use "its", have a look at the following examples:

The man (he) and his dog are walking down the street.

The woman (she) and her daughter are buying some toys.

The car (it) looks good, but its motor is broken.

So what chocolate4ever told you about the German meaning of the word is basically right, but you can only use it with nouns that can be replaced with "it".
