And honestly: Even 35.000.000.000 grains of rice can't be very much - I mean how many grains to a pound? I think I once read there are 50.000 grains to a kilo - makes 700.000 kilos or 700 tons a month. The usual price for rice is about 200€ a ton (a lot more at the moment). That makes 140.000€ a month, which is a large sum, but could really be generated by advertizing, presuming that many thousands of players play that game. |

I think that's the point = they generate ad revenue and use it to donate rice. To quote their FAQ
"FreeRice is not sitting on a pile of rice―you are earning it 20 grains at a time. Here is how it works. When you play the game, sponsor banners appear on the bottom of your screen. The money generated by these banners is then used to buy the rice. So by playing, you generate the money that pays for the rice donated to hungry people."
@choc: besides German and English (duh!) I 'only' speak Italian fluently, though in my mind that constitutes inappropriate use of the word only...

wow..one more month, I guess I would die. I am so happy, no more school.
well, I wont drive abroad or something at least. that sucks. but the weather isnt that bad, so I can go swimming or doing something else, otherwise I would probably die  furthermore I have to learn for school, because of the honour classes and so on, its going to be harder every year..well, not at all, but I am really nervous about the next year.

But this year I really HAVE TO learn latin and spanish or my parents kill me.

It's getting quiet here!!

I believe you've all seen "Pretty Woman" some time - the movie with Richard Gere and Jullia Roberts?? Well, I found this one in the board and decided to watch it in english a few days ago. And what can I say, watching it in english doesn't make it better. |

lol They wanted to kill me after seeing which marks I got.
well it's hopeless that I'm going to be better in latin. I only have one more year of it so I hope I pass it with at least a 4. That's enough to have the latinum!
and spanish...I think I also start learning it next week.
