| Ich finde den Satz nicht gerade gluecklich formuliert, aber hier ist meine Interpretation / Uebersetzung: In welcher Weise stellt dies den im 19. Jahrhundert in den USA vorhandenen Glauben - dass die USA von Gott auserkoren seien, grosse Teile von Nordamerika zu besiedeln - dar ? (Ich nehme an, das der Satz sich auf etwas bezieht).
