| Gar nicht so einfach, der Text: Ich versuch's mal, sinngemaess: "We will never get a great culture in Australia until there are more artists prepared to understand, rather than demonise, this pragmatic turn of mind. Until the writers and filmmakers are prepared to shake themselves free of moral vanity, passengers on the good ship Australia will be increasingly disposed to hand them a paddle and pitch them overboard." = Wir werden solange keine gute Kultur in Australien erreichen wie es Kuenstler gibt die bereit sind diesen pragmatischen Gedanken [od. "Gedankengang"] zu verstehen anstatt ihn zu demonisieren. Wenn Williamsons Schiff eine Metapher fuer das heutige Australien war, dann in dem Sinne das sie ein gefaehrliches Schisma [od "Teilung"] zwischen Kunst und der Oeffentlichkeit aufgezeigt hat. Solange die Schriftsteller und Filmemacher nicht bereit sind sich von ihrer moralischen Eitelkeit loszusagen, werden Passagiere auf dem "Schiff Australien" mehr und mehr geneigt sein ihnen ein Ruder zu geben und sie ueber Bord zu schmeissen. Ich hab schon mehrmals probiert da was sinnvolles draus zu machen, aber das ist mir einfach zu schwer. Bekommt da jemand was flüssiges hin? Schon im Voraus vielen Dank. |
