During the California Gold Rush thousands of people searched for Gold.
On 24th January 1848 James W. Marshall discovered the first gold nugget.
the first people quichklycame from California to the gold area.
After a speech by President James k. Polk on 5th December 1848 the discovery of gold in California was officially confirmed.
In the following years hundreds of hundreds of people walked/color] to California to find gold.
Between January 1848 and December 1849 San Francisco [color=red]grew from 1000 to 25000 residents.
A lot of people left their workplaces and a lot of companies had to shut down.
Few became really rich but most stayed poor.
The people had to pay a lot for simple products.
In 1849 an egg cost one dollar and a newspaper cost 10 dollar.
So many people got a big problem: from 1849 to 1851 San Francisco burned six times down.
Fleas and rats lived between people.
In winter 1851 a epidemic broke out.
Before the gold rush more than 150000 Indians lived in the area of the later state.
1870 only 3100.
In the same period the total population of California increased from 92000 of 560000.
About 60% of the people in California died because of illnesses .
Because of the strong growth in population California became one of the 31 state of the USA on 18th October 1850.
In 1854 gold was mined industrially so that the time of the gold rush was over.

Also für ein KV in englisch habe ich mir das thema California gold rush ausgesucht, das Plakat habe ich fast fertig und jetz fehlt mir nur noch der Text.
Da ich es nicht so mit englisch habe bitte ich euch mal meinen text euch durchzulesen und meine fehler zu korrigieren...
