Meine Frage:
hallo,
ich soll ein referat über das globe theater machen, was an für sich ja einfach ist...
allerdings finde ich nur sehr wenig zu:
how were the plays presented on stage?

Meine Ideen:
ich habe bis jetzt folgendes:
The stage was rectangular and about 15 meter wide and 9 meter long. Unlike the courtyard the stage had a roof.
This roof should not protect the actors from the weather, but was used as a part of the play.
The roof was painted and was called ?the heaven?, from there figures could fly to the stage and there was room for the props.
Under the stage there were also rooms, which were called the cellarage. Props could be taken from there to the stage through a trapdoor. But also actors used this way to appear on stage. This seems like there were coming from hell.
Although costumes and props were used, there was a completely devoid of background scenery.
There was no proscenium arch (Bühnenrahmen), no curtain and no stagehands to speak of other than the actors themselves. Instead, changes of scene were indicated or implicitly in the speeches and narrative situations that Shakespeare wrote into the text of the plays.

jetzt kann ich ja noch erwähnen, dass nur männer schauspielen durften und das die schauspieler ihre texte meistens erst spontan bekommen haben...
fallen jemandem noch andere sachen ein?
