| Mein Wörterbuch schlägt dafür nur "to be a great support for s.o." vor. Manche Redewendungen lassen sich halt nicht so gut übersetzen, aber man sollte dann auch nicht einfach irgendwas auf gut Glück schreiben, weil das fast immer falsch ist und nur zu Missverständnissen führt. | |

--> Bei dem letzten Satz wollte ich sowas schreiben wie "Sie geben der Bevölkerung halt"... ich weiß allerdings nicht, wie man das auf Englisch schreibt... |

Im ersten Satz "reports", den Text gibt es ja immer noch  "Fighters against crime". "Cannot" schreibt man zusammen. Abkürzungen wie "haven't" in Texten ausschreiben. "But the volunteer „peaceworkers“ are a part of this community" Nach "therefore" ein Komma. Es heißt "to provide s.o. with s.th." "Information" hat keinen Plural, man kann höchstens sagen "pieces of information". "Most of the “peaceworkers[” have a better chance to a get a job and they become as a policemen." Was du mit "and they become as a policeman" meinst, verstehe ich nicht, aber es ist auf jeden Fall falsch. Nach "most important" fehlt m.E. ein Nomen, z.B. "aspect". Deinen letzten Satz verstehe ich auch nicht. MfG Goldenhind |

Wäre nett, wenn jemand meinen Text mal "Korrektur liest" und mir dann sagt, wo die Grammatik- und Rechtschreibfehler sind  : The text “South African teen patrols try to fight crime”, written by Scott Baldauf, reported about the volunteer patrols of the Peace and Development Program (PDP) in Soshanguve. They get a special training for their action. If they see a crime they will get the assistance of the police. They are a benefit to the townships, because these fighters again the crime establish a connection between the community and the police. Often the police can not do anything, because they haven’t got the relevant information. But the volunteer „peaceworker“ are a part of this community. The program is the reason for a protection of the population in Soshanguve, which they never had before. Therefore the population trust in the “peaceworker“. They provide the “peaceworker“ the informations and the “peaceworker” give the informations to the police.It’s often a peaceful combat of the problems, before they get to a crime. The most of the “peaceworker” get a better chance to a job and they become as a policemen. But the most important is, that the “peaceworker” establish the connection between the police and the community. They keep the population grounded. Vielen, vielen Dank im Voraus!! |
