with
the
following sentence: ,,For the next four years we will spread liberty and freedom to the darkest corners of the world.''
This
speech bubble is in the upper part.
The man is typical of a cartoon from G.W.Bush
der Satz klingt für mich irgendwie komisch
. He is shown, when he was choosen for the American president, therefore ,,for the next four years''.
In the second part in the down left corner you can see a tank and the man in there screaming ,,LOAD FREEDOM''. Behind the man the American flag blows. In the background the viewer can see bombing in the sky.
The viewer's attention is focused firstly on the speech bubbles and secondly on the tank.
The speech in the first and second part is contradictory
to
the tank in the second part of the cartoon.
The picture inspires the viewer to think about the message of the cartoon that G.W.Bush says things
which he does not
mean. What the cartoonist wants to criticise is Bush's behaviour.
Bush says indeed that he wants to ,, spread liberty and freedom to the darkest corners of the world'', but he takes this as a
pretense of
making war against other states with ,,the darkest corners of the world''.
I agree with that message, because the history has shown us what Bush has reached. For example he implicated
Iraq
in a war with the pretenses to bring
liberty, freedom and democracy for the population
.
Außerdem benutzt man in einer Bildbeschreibung eigentlich present progressive.
