The cartoon shows a scene from a bathroom.
On the left
,
there is a woman in front of a washbowl with a mirror who applies lipstick
to
her lips. She has a long nose, short
hair ("hair" ist der korrekte Plural)
and wears what looks like a dress. Furthermore
,
she is barefoot.
In the corner behind the woman
,
there is a bathtub with a man who cries.
He has a long nose and short hair as well
.
As opposed to the woman
,
the man is fat.
In the lower part of the cartoon
,
you can see the
sentence
"I know real men cry these days, Gerald, but not for getting soap in their eyes."
(Im Englischen Anführungszeichen immer oben)
.
The viewer's attention is focused on the crying man and the
sentence
. To the alert eye
, (sicher dass es den Ausdruck so gibt? Ist mir nicht geläufig)
it will become apparent that this is a contrast.
I think that the cartoon wants to criticise the attitude
of
women
towards
crying men. On the one hand
,
women want that men show feelings with crying, but otherwise
women
do not (Kurzformen geben oft Abzüge beim Stil)
want that men cry at every least opportunity like getting soap in their eyes.
The cartoon inspires the viewer to think about
the opportunities
men can cry
at
without being a coward
at once
.

so meine aufgabe
Describe and analyse the cartoon
The cartoon shows a scene from a bathroom.
On the left there is a woman in front of a washbowl with a mirror, who applies lipstick on her lips. She has a long nose, short hairs and wears what looks like a dress. Furthermore she is barefoot.
In the corner behind the woman there is a bathtub with a man who cries. He has also a long nose and short hairs.
As opposed to the woman the man is fat.
In the lower part of the cartoon you can see the sentense ,, I know real men cry these days, Gerald, but not for getting soap in their eyes.''.
The viewer's attention is focused on the crying man and the sentense. To the alert eye it will become apparent, that this is a contrast.
I think, that the cartoon wants to criticise the attitude from women to crying men. On the one hand the women want that men show feelings with crying, but otherwise women don't want that men cry at every least opportunity like getting soap in their eyes.
The cartoon inspires the viewer to think about at which opportunity men can cry without being at once a coward(Memme).
vielen dank schonmal in vorraus
