Danke!
Hier habe ich den Text nocheinmal überarbeitet:
Mahatmas Gandhi was without any doubts one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century.
He was a human rights activist and a politically active man. The Indians called him Gandhi, which means “honourable”. Gandhi was probably the most famous and most successful liberation nationalist of his time. From 1920 he tried to release India from the British Empire. His strategy was so simple: to resistance by non-violence. Under his direction, an always wide growing independence movement developed itself in India. Gandhi wanted to fight for freedom in his country, which he equated with the freedom of his people with non-violent doings, like peaceful demonstrations against the British-Empire .One of his most popular campaigns was the "salt march“, which should shift the crucial blow of the vassal's government. In 1947 Gandhi had reached the aim of his struggle of existence: India became independent. Nevertheless: Gandhi could not prevent that his country was divided as a result of the authority politics of the Western Powers. Since then Pakistan also exists near India. Gandhi saw in this division “a political danger and mental tragedy ". He should here also surely keep what confirms the current development impressively.

Titel:
Der Mann hieß in der Tat Mahatma Gandhi, das stimmt.
"He was a human rights activist and a
politically active
man."
Ich würde hier sagen: "politically active man", political ist in jedem Fall falsch, da dort ein Adverb stehen muss und engaged mit engagiert zu übersetzen ist auch nicht so empfehlenswert.
"The Indians called him Gandhi
,
which means “honourable”."
"Gandhi wanted to fight for freedom in his country"

thx
Mohandas Gandhi was one of the greatest leaders in the 20th century, without any doubt. He was a human rights activist and political engaged men. The Indians call him Gandhi that means “Honourable”. Gandhi was the probably most famous and most successful liberation nationalist of his time. From 1920 he tried excuse India from the British Empire. His strategy was so simply: to resistance by non-violence. Under his direction, an always wide growing independence movement developed itself in India. Gandhi wanted to fight for the freedom of his country which he equated with the freedom of his people with non-violent doings. One of his most popular campaigns was "salt march“, which should shift the crucial blow of the vassal's government. On the 15th August, 1947 Gandhi had reached the aim of his struggle of existence: India became independent. Nevertheless: Gandhi could not prevent that his country was divided as a result of the power politics of the Western Powers. Since then "Pakistan" also exists near India. Gandhi saw in this division „a political danger and mental tragedy ". Also here he should surely keep what confirms the current development impressively.
