Ich würde das in etwa so umformulieren:

Hallo,
1.) Cultural diversity and an intercultural dialog between civilisation, as I believe, are one of the most crucial aspects of preserving and founding peace and solidarity of mankind.
2.) Grown up in a city which became in 1999 a UNESCO world cultural heritage site, namely Graz, I am familiar with the various activities of UNESCO since a long time, and within my studies I developed my ambition to gain professional experience in a multicultural intergouvernementale organisation like UNESCO.
