I can't think of a case where it has a different meaning, so I guess it's normally the correct translation of ever since. |

okay, thanks
Does "ever since" mean "seitdem" in general or only in this case?

You can simply translate "ever since" as "seitdem" in this context. |

Hi,
I bought a book about quaternions. First sentence in the book: "Ever since the Irish mathematician William Rowan Hamilton introduced quaternions in the nineteenth century[...]"
How to translate "Ever since"?
Okay, since stands for a concrete point in time instead of for which means a time interval.
But what means "Ever" in this context and how would I say it in German? "Jemals seit der Irische ..." is not German.
Thanks
All the best |
